Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems, Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia is starting the annual Robert Blumberg Distinguished Lecture in Cognitive Science, funded by Robert Blumberg, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Illinois.

Every year a distinguished scholar is selected whose contribution has significantly shaped the interdisciplinary field of cognitive science.

We’re proud to announce that this year professor Robert Goldstone, Chancellor's Professor & Distinguished Professor at the Department of Psychological and Brain Science, Indiana University in Bloomington, will deliver the Robert Blumberg Distinguished Lecture in Cognitive Science.

Prof. Goldstone has done groundbreaking work in the areas of perceptual and concept learning. He has also worked in the areas of computational modelling of cognition, neural networks, collective problem solving. Prof. Goldstone is a member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
